aIt was in 1995 when Honda first unveiled the CR-V. Back then, this little compact Sport Utility Vehicle (CUV), based on the Civic, was pretty much a novelty. Twenty-one years later, Honda enters the lucrative ring once again, albeit in a smaller scale.
The Japanese carmaker today unveiled what is essentially a preview of the production version of the Winsome Runabout Vehicle (WR-V) at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil.
Built primarily for the South American market, the little WR-V goes up against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Juke. It possesses a smallish, compact footprint yet promises versatile seating and cargo configuration for the active set. Moreover, it promises to provide outstanding fuel economy and yet still offer driving fun with stable handling on most any road surface. Plus, the higher ground clearance makes it perfect for the changing weather patterns in our global warming-stricken world.
While no other details were revealed, Honda did say that production will begin sometime in 2017.
