The Nissan Juke is one of those cars that can really stand out in a crowd. The funky styling, especially in red or yellow, sets itself apart from a sea of jellybean-styled subcompacts. So it's quite interesting to see Nissan putting a bit of black and white into this colorful crossover. Enter the Nissan Juke Black Pearl.
It starts with a Super Black Nissan Juke as a blank canvass. Touches like pearl white accents on the front bumper, headlamp rings, door handles, mirror caps, rear bumper, and spoiler are then added to the mix. Of course, the requisite Black Pearl badging is scattered throughout the vehicle. Finally, 215/55R17 rubber is wrapped around Super Black alloy wheels.
More black and white adorns the cabin, such as on the cloth seats, door trim inserts, power window switches, and steering wheel. The cool motorcycle-inspired center console, meanwhile, is set in white, as are the air vent rings and shift knob.
The Nissan Juke Black Pearl, like all Jukes sold in the US market, come with a 1.6-liter direct injection four-cylinder turbocharged motor that puts out 188hp and 240Nm. Power is sent to either the front or all four wheels via Nissan’s vaunted Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
Besides being hip and cool, the Nisan Juke features a suite of safety kit like Advanced Air Bag Ssyte4m, roof-mounted side impact airbags front and rear, seat-mounted side airbags for the front occupants, tire pressure monitor, Vehicle Dynamic Control, and Traction Control.
The Nissan Juke Black Pearl is the third special model in the Juke lineup. It follows the Yellow Stinger and Black Stinger. The Black Pearl Edition will have a limited run of just 1,250 units—1,000 slated for the US market while 250 will head to Canada.
