The Fuso truck brand is no stranger to the Philippine market. The truck maker has been catering to Filipino businesses for decades now, albeit through the dealer network of Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC). But now, Fuso trucks get their very own home.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation recently inaugurated the very first Fuso dealership in the country, Fuso Quezon Avenue. As the name suggests, the showroom is located along busy Quezon Avenue, a place that many businesses ferry on a regular basis. Owned and operated by long-time MMPC partner Diamond Motor Corporation, the facility sits on a 2,891sq.m. lot that can accommodate a large showroom and various facilities to service the needs of Fuso customers.
The service station, for instance, has a total of five (5) work bays, complete with all the necessary tools to repair the trucks and keep them in top condition. The display area, meanwhile, can take in both light and heavy-duty models at any given time. Moreover, manufacturer-certified staff and technicians will be on hand to take care of all client requirements.
MMPC also took the opportunity to unveil two new models that will join the extensive Fuso truck lineup. The FI 1217R is a six-wheeler Medium Duty truck with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 11,990kg. Under the metal is a powerful yet efficient new-generation 4D37 diesel engine that packs 172hp and 520Nm, mated to a six-speed manual.
The Fuso FI boasts of a few firsts in the segment, such as standard air-conditioning, standard power windows with central door locks, a tilt-telescoping steering wheel for greater driving ease, and a slew of safety features. Plus, the aerodynamic front end makes it both appealing and functional at the same time.
The Fuso FI was also joined by the newest 25-tonner, ten-wheeler Fuso FJ 2528R. The first natural 32-foot cab to end frame Heavy Duty truck in the country delivers 282hp and a whopping 1,100Nm from its 6S20 diesel mill. This motor is paired with a nine-speed transmission for truly smooth operation.
The Fuso FJ also boasts the same features as its FI brother—like the aerodynamic shape, power windows and central locking, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, and more. And of course, both trucks boast durability that will last for years to come.
The Fuso FI 1217R retails for P1,900,000 while the Fuso FJ 2528R goes for P3,000,000. You can check them out at the Fuso Quezon Avenue showroom, which is open from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Service facilities are available from Monday to Friday, between 7:00am to 4:00pm.
