In the world of tomorrow, vehicle passengers will be entertained by taking the world around them and fusing it with a bit of entertainment. At least this is how Honda Motor Company envisions entertainment in the years to come. To demonstrate this, Honda teamed up with DreamWorks to produce a virtual reality (VR) showcase known as Honda Dream Drive, which it will present at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
By using a VR headset, passengers in the vehicle can transform their street, for instance, into a fun place. Apart from interacting with characters from the movie Trolls (which DreamWorks used in its demo), for example, vehicle occupants can even perform functions like order food at their favorite restaurant, or reserve movie tickets.
The project is a tie up between Honda Developer Studio and DreamWorks Animation. It’s meant to make entertainment truly interactive and make human. vehicle, and environment one. The Honda Dream Drive promises to be both informative and entertaining at the same time.
And if all goes as planned, it will be the future of how we spend our time in the vehicle. Road trips or even a spin to the grocery store should be really fun, don’t you think?
