Mr. Sungjoong “SJ” HUH may only have been with Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) for just a few years, yet he has already become one of the most endearing figures in the industry. The energetic and charismatic Vice-President for Sales, Marketing, and Dealer Development has been a driving force behind Nissan’s strong growth since it re-organized its ranks a few years ago. In 2016 alone, for instance, the company’s sales grew by a whopping 48%, thanks in no small part to the hardworking SJ HUH, among others.
Yet just like anything else in this world, everything must come to an end. For SJ HUH, this means saying goodbye to his post at Nissan Philippines Inc. Effective this February, SJ HUH will become the President and Managing Director of Nissan South Korea.
This is yet another feather in his cap, which has witnessed a career spanning a rather short but sweet 13 years. Starting out as a Leader at Mercedes-Benz Korea in 2003, SJ HUH began his journey at Nissan in 2005 as Manager of Dealer Operations and Sales Training. He then went on to become Manager of Dealer Development for Nissan and Infiniti in 2006, Manager of Sales Planning and Operations in 2009, and Marketing Manager of Infiniti Korea come 2010.
Born on the 10th of March 1974 in South Korea, the 42-year old HUH, who graduated with a degree in Political Science from Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul and a Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma, saw a further boost in his worklife in 2011. That year, he was assigned as Regional Product Manager at Nissan New Zealand, then moving on to Nissan Australia as Regional Launch Manger, and then assuming his post as General Manager for Nissan Philippines Inc. in 2013.
