In case you didn’t know, Volvo Philippines isn’t just the official distributor of one of the world’s safest vehicles in the country. The Swedish brand’s Philippine arm has likewise been hard at work recognizing the men and women who have made a mark in their respective fields, and society as a whole. This is done through the Volvo Ironmark.
The special award, which has been given out since 2012, has been bestowed on individuals who have pushed the envelope and have set benchmarks in their craft. Volvo, together with its partner People Asia, has awarded distinguished personalities, including champion boxer and politician Manny Pacquiao, who garnered the prestigious trophy in 2012.
The Volvo Ironmark recently recognized veteran broadcast journalist Cecilia Victoria Orena Drilon for her contribution to the field of broadcast journalism. With a career spanning some 30 years, Ces Drilon has an unquenchable thirst for truth, pushing her to dig deep into the issues and getting to the heart of the matter. And she does so even as she plays other roles as a dedicated wife and mother. And these are the qualities that embody a true Volvo Ironmark awardee.
