With road safety in mind, Michelin Tires Philippines recently held an event at the S&R Membership Shopping Center in Alabang. Dubbed as the Michelin Safe On The Road, it’s technically a renamed version of its already successful Fill Up With Air campaign, and is aimed at educating motorists about proper and safe tire inflation, maintenance.
According to Michelin, the correct tire pressure maximizes the tire’s grip on the road, thus prolonging its life and increasing its safety factor. It added that improper air pressure (under- or over-inflating) of the tires may lead to shorter tire life, lesser grip, and fuel inefficiency, among others.
During the said event, Michelin offered free merchandise, tire air pressure check-ups, and servicing to motorists courtesy of its team of professional engineers. In the end, Michelin successfully serviced a total of 48 vehicles from visitors as well as S&R members. Its engineers also discussed important topics regarding tire car, safety, and more.
Some of the pointers include monthly monitoring of air pressure, checking air pressure before heading off to a long trip, checking air pressure when the tires are cold, and not deflating the tires when they’re hot.
