A few weeks ago, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation teased us with what it said is a new take on the vaunted Evolution nameplate. Dubbed the e-Evolution Concept, the upcoming concept vehicle would combine high performance attributes with SUV abilities, both of which are hallmarks of the brand.
As the 45th Tokyo Motor Show draws near, Mitsubishi reveals a few more tidbits about its upcoming show-stopper. As previously mentioned, the e-Evolution Concept will be a high performance crossover that promises to give drivers a fun time behind the wheel while allowing them to enjoy the all-weather capabilities of an SUV.
Apart from this, the concept vehicle will utilize an all-electric propulsion system. One motor will power the front wheels, while a pair of electric mills will drive the rear axle. The triple motor AWD system will employ torque-vectoring Active Yaw Control at the rear for the utmost in sharp and precise handling. Moreover, the system promises total control on any road surface, on any road condition. In short, it combines the best attributes of Mitsubishi rally, SUV, and electric vehicle know-how.
Besides these already cool pieces of kit, Mitsubishi will debut the Artificial Intelligence Personal Assist feature on the new e-Evolution Concept. Apart from the usual voice commands, AI Personal Assist can actually have a dialogue with its owner. Moreover, it can learn one’s driving abilities and help coach the driver to maximize their potential. It essentially aims to help owners make the most out of the drive and rekindle their passion for driving.
