At the recent celebration of MAN Automotive Concessionaires Corporation’s (MACC’s) 28th anniversary, the truck and bus company unveiled a new innovation that would help promot safe and fuel efficient driving for its growing clientele. The new MAN Telematics and Fleet Management System was rolled out at the posh Manila Polo Club in Makati City.
As the name suggests, MAN Telematics and Fleet Management System is a cloud-based system that easily integrates with MAN vehicles and the Mobileye Driver Assistance system. Together, the two pieces of technology are designed to provide the utmost in vehicle safety and efficiency, as well as monitor driver behavior.
Engineered by MSI/FUNTORO, the system allows fleet owners and operators to monitor their vehicles in real time suing a desktop or laptop computer, tablet, or smartphone. It can monitor such functions and behavior as:
- Vehicle information such as road speed, engine RPM, engine coolant temperature, battery voltage, and fuel consumption, among others
- Realtime location using Waze and GPS
- Can help with collision avoidance as it gives off audible and visual warnings when impending danger is detected
- Rate driver performance and behavior
MACC is confident that its new Telematics and Fleet Management System can help not only its customers but all road users as well. That’s because the system is meant to promote safe and efficient driving that will indeed benefit a large number of people on the road. Plus, cargo and other goods being transported reach their destination in the quickest and safest way possible.
