It was only a matter of time. But Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) department has finally gotten its hands on the F-Pace that was introduced in 2016 and given it some go. The result is the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which debuts at this week’s New York Auto Show.
Packing the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 found under the nood of the F-Type SVR, it produces 550hp and 680Nm for this application. What it does here is rocket the SUV from 0-100kph in a sports car-like 4.1 seconds and hit a 283kph top speed.
Beyond the straight-line grunt, the stiffer front and rear suspension ensure improved handling. All-Wheel Drive and Electronic Active Differential, meanwhile, give the utmost stability and traction on any road surface.
Setting the F-Pace SVR apart from the regular Jaguar SUV are larger air intakes, 21- or optional 22-inch wheels and tires, and a host of other aerodynamic goodies. The interior gets niceites like a 12.3-inch interactive driver display, 10-inch TouchPro infotainment system, Wi-Fi connectivity for up to 8 devices, and exclusive SVR logos embossed on the headrests. The seats can be specified in four different shades to match one’s taste.
The Jaguar F-Pace SVR is now available to order.
