Safety for both motorists and pedestrians is among the top issues concerning the motoring industry worldwide. In fact, the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 2015 Global Status Report on Road Safety stated that an average of 1.2 million people die each year due to road traffic accidents, with most reports coming from middle to low-income countries like the Philippines.
In our country alone, the report said that around 53% of road crash deaths are reported to involve 2-wheeled vehicles like bicycles and motorbikes. With the evident rise in popularity of such machines since the mid-2000s, the local motoring industry saw the need to step up its road safety training for riders, drivers, and even pedestrians in some way.
