The MG brand is no stranger to the Philippines. No, we’re not referring to the classic British marque of yore, but the new, mainstream Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation-owned firm. Yes, Morris Garages Philippines has been selling a number of vehicles in the country for the past few years.

Now, however, it is under a new distributor—the same folks who bring in Chevrolet vehicles into the local market, The Covenant Car Company Inc. With this new lease on life comes a trio of models that hope to make Flipinos more aware of what this nameplate has to offer. Enter the new MG ZS, MG RX5, and MG6.

Kicing things off is the subcompact crossover MG ZS. With prices starting at P818,888 for the ZS Style MT, moving up to P868,888 for the Style AT, and topping out at P998,888 for the Alpha AT, the ZS gives a relatively affordable yet feature-packed offering. Powered by a 118hp and 150Nm inline-4 gasoline engine, the ZS boasts of features such as reverse camera, tire pressure monitor, and traction control, among others.

Those that want something more premium yet still don’t want to break their bank account can check out the MG RX5. This one boasts of goodies like pushbutton start, an 8-inch onftainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, and upscale materials. Under the hood is a 1.5-liter turbo motor with 162hp and 250Nm of torque, sent to the drive wheels via 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. And the price? P1,058,888 for the RX5 Core MT and P,228,888 for the AT Core.

Folks that want a sporty drive and and too keen on crossovers can eheck out the MG 6. Powered by the same 1.5-liter turbo mil found in the RX5, thie 6 takes its cue from MG’s rich racing and motorsport heritage. It even has a flat-bottom steering wheel and red and black upholstery to prove it. And of course, safety is tops with traction control, hill start assist, and tire pressure monitor, just to  name a few. It can be had for P1,068,888 for the AT Alpha and P1,188,888 for the AT Trpphy.

Apart from these, MG also rolled out its after-sales service, complete with Mobile Garage Service. This means customers can choose to bring in their rides to the dealer for a checkup. Or, they can opt to avail of the convenience of having this done where they are.

With all these, it looks like MG is on its way to reaching out to more Filipinos in the coming months.
