We first saw the Nissan Sentra in 1987 as a no-nonsense compact sedan.
Back then, styling wasn’t exactly its strong suit and this continued for generations that followed.
For 2020, however, Nissan Motor Co Ltd puts a dash of style into its long-running nameplate, as well as a load of tech features to boot.
The 2020 Nissan Sentra takes cues from the latest-generation Altima, Miaxima, and other Nissan products.
This essentially means it has got the trademark V-Motion grille, sleek window and roof lines, and shapr-looking detailing for the headlights and taillamps.
There is even an optional two-tone exterior paint job for higher end variants.
This gives it a sporting flair, if you will.
Step inside and you’ll also notice a more upscale dash layout with a standard 7-inch touchscreen.
An 8-inche is on offer with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
This being a Nissan, one can even specify those Zero Gravity seats that are said to make sitting in the car for long hours a lot more bearable.
For power, the new Sentra gets a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mill with 149hp and 197Nm of torque.
As with all Nissans these days, power is transferred to the drive wheels via Xtronic CVT.
Another selling point of this compact is the Nissan Safety Shield that boasts automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear corss traffic alert, and rear auto brake, just to name a few.
The 2020 Nissan Sentra goes on sale in the U.S. in early 2020.
As for our market, we can only hope that Nissan Philippines would consider bringing back the Sentra nameplate.
