Ford Philippines recently introduced a new variant to its popular Ranger pickup line. Dubbed as the FX4, this new addition boasts low-key aggression in style and work-ready performance with smart technologies to boot.

Heading the way for the Ranger FX4 is its upgraded design. In front, it’s got a new blacked-out mesh grill and bumper accents that further compliment the brand’s blue oval insignia. Meanwhile, aside from the unique door decals, its profile also features side mirrors, fender accents, extended sports bars, and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels, all painted in black. And in back, the Ranger FX4 leaves trails in style with its black bumper accents and 3D style Ford emblem to complete the look.

Hop in, and one would also see some minute changes to the cabin in black motif. A good glance at the leather seats and floor mats showcases FX4 logos, while race-inspired stitching accent the rest of the interior panels. But the most prominent change in the cabin is the addition of new infotainment system tech in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile connectivity for iOS and Android devices, respectively. For safety, the Ranger FX4 comes with a suit of driver assistive goodies and safety packs. These include cruise control, and tilock brake with electronic brake force distribution, and rear cross-traffic alert, among others.

Under the hood, the Ford Ranger FX4 runs with a 2.2L diesel engine that churns 158 hp and 385 Nm of torque. It’s connected to a 6-speed gearbox, available in manual or auto that sends drive to the rear wheels, hence it being a 4x2 pickup. Of the moment, Ford has yet to clarify if it would introduce a 4x4 variant in the near future.

For Philippines says that the Ranger FX4 is available in two kinds; a manual and an automatic with P1,256,000 and P1,316,000 retail prices, respectively. Available colors are as follows: Absolute Black, Aluminum Metallic, Arctic White, Meteor Grey, and True Red.
