It's that time of the year again when the push for environment friendly modes of mobility is at an all time high. And for this year, the Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit or PHEVS is bigger than ever.
EVAP, DOE, various EV sectors and brands hold 11th PH Electric Vehicle Summit
This is largely in part by the recent successful passing of the EVIDA Law or the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Republic Act No. 11697).
Under the EVIDA Law, corporate firms and government agencies are mandated to have EVs comprise at least 5% of their fleet. EV users are also entitled to dedicated parking slots in public and private buildings and establishments, where EV charging stations should also be installed for more convenient charging of vehicles. Other incentives are also set, including exemption of EVs from traffic coding schemes, priority registration of EVs, and speedier processing of franchise to operate applications for public transportation fleets.
Now in its 11th year, PHEVS is being graced by some of the country's top automotive brands, each flexing their own EV models, making the push for better means of transportation even more evident. Yesterday's electric dreams are today's and tomorrow's realities.
From the likes of BYD, Chery, DongFeng, Hyundai, and Kia... to such brands as Lotus, MG, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and more... they're all here and proud to present their take on the future of mobility.
On top of those, the rising stars of e-mobility, the start-ups, and independent distributors of e-mobility parts, accessories, and everything in between are also present.
The three-day exhibition and conference (October 10 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City) is showcasing the newest technologies, innovations, and product releases of the major EV sector players in the country and the region.
