As most of us head out for that much-anticipated Holy Week vacation, it is important to prepare ourselves and our vehicle in order to have a safe and stress-free journey. Keeping in mind and practicing things like vehicle checks, as well as road safety tips can spell the difference between disaster and an enjoyable time.

But there are times when not-so-pleasant things take place. Things like accidents or breakdowns are usually unavoidable. Times like these, however, need not make us worry too much. This is especially true with companies like Pilipinas Shell, which serves up an innovative app called Itaga Mo sa Bato.

The station-based app, which was developed through a team up between the fuels and lubricants company and the Philippine National Police, is designed to assist motorists who stop at any Shell service station to report road accidents, vehicle breakdowns, fires, or medical emergencies. Concerned citizens may likewise report crimes committed at or within the vicinity of a nearby Shell station.

These Shell stations are equipped with the Itaga Mo sa Bato app, which links them directly to the nearest PNP station. This, in turn, makes them extensions of the local police. As such, the app, along with other Shell services, is the company’s way of making the summer season, a truly memorable time for all Filipinos.
