Every day, we read about gadgets being forcibly taken or people being killed over mobile phones and the like.As timely as today’s headlines, Power Mac Center offers peace of mind for new Apple device owners via its device insurance program known as Protect Plus.
The newest accident insurance program is a partnership between Power Mac Center and the Insurance Company of North America. Under Protect Plus, anyone who purchases a new Apple device from authorized Power Mac Centers is entitled to:
- Accidental Damage Benefit brought about by impairment, thus rendering a device unusable This includes water damage or cracked screen
- Accidental Death Benefit arising from theft or robbery. This amounts to P100,000 given to the deceased owner’s family or beneficiaries.
- Accidental Medical Expense Benefit arising from theft or robbery. This amounts to P5,000 per incident.
The optional Protect Plus will naturally require a premium. In this case, it is 12% of the particular device being insured, covering a one-year period. And just like any insurance claim, a participation fee of 20% of the original price will be required. And one will need to file a claim within 7 days after the accident.
