Finally, after months of speculation and a lengthy cyber strip tease, the world’s best selling car finally launches a new model in the country.

Welcome the new Corolla Altis. Stand. Clap. Sit.

Now that you’re comfortable, here are the first official local pictures and specs. It is not much, I know, but we can tell you that aside from its’ saucy styling that ties in with the rest of the family, it has a new 7 speed CVT, improved leg room that gives up to 92mm of extra space in the rear seats, and cyber carbon material throughout the cabin and optitron meter gauges that radiates dark blue illuminations, as well as first-in-class LED headlamps.

It retains the same reliable 4-cylinder in-line 16-valve DOHC VVTi engine, and comes in seven special flavors including Super White, Silver Metallic, Gray Metallic, Attitude Black, Red and Dark Brown. A White Pearl color option is also available for an additional P15, 000.

Prices start at P836,000 for the 1.6E; P935,000 for the 1.6G; P999,000 for the 1.6V, and P1,201,000. For the 2.0V.

We’ll give you more once we get our hands around the wheel, but for now, we’re interested to know what your first impressions are. Join our poll.
