After the recent reveal of the Chevrolet Trailblazer 4x2 LTX, it’s but natural that its pickup twin, the Colorado, receive the same touch. True enough, Chevrolet Philippines—The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI) unwraps a stylish and feature-packed Colorado 4x2 LTX.
The LTX variant of Chevy’s vaunted midsize pickup truck gets a tougher stance with goodies that are equally functional to boot. The matte black roll bar that’s made of powder-coated 3-inch thick steel tubing, for instance, adds to the tough look while providing useful anchorage points for gear and additional accessories. Plus, it serves as the mounting area for the high-mount 3rd brake light.
This is complemented by the 3-inch thick front nudge bar and side step assists, both of which serve to protect the vehicle from unwanted scratches. The latter also eases entry and exit. The look is finished off by a blacked-out B pillar that adds to the mescaline vibe.
The cabin gets the jet black treatment for the leather-clad seats, door panels, and steering wheel. These are complemented by grey accents and laminated cube print on the gear lever and center console. And just like the Trailblazer, small pockets are likewise located on the front seats’ leading edge. These make for useful spaces for loose yet precious items.
Being an LTX variant, the Colorado receives a front-facing dashcam that records live feeds onto a 32GB memory card. It is matched with a reverse camera that makes backing up into those tight spaces a breeze. And all these are displayed on a 4.5-inch LCD monitor placed on the chromatic (auto-dimming) rearview mirror.
Just like its Trailblazer sibling, the Chevrolet Colorado 4x2 LTX is powered by a 200hp, 500Nm 2.8-liter Duramax diesel motor. The best-in-class figures are backed by equally robust 3.5-ton towing capacity, 1-ton hauling capability, and an 800mm wading depth. All these make the Colorado a true urban warrior.
