The Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII’s Gallery: For True Artisans

The eighth-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom, which was introduced barely a week ago, isn’t just the latest iteration of one of the world’s most luxurious nameplates. It likewise brings forth a new concept in automobile luxury. In fact, it takes the whole luxury experience to the next century with its cutting-edge technology and innovation.

One of the notable features of the latest Phantom is The Gallery. This is Rolls-Royce-speak for a new type of dashboard that isn’t your typical instrument console. In true Rolls-Royce fashion, the large expanse of glass incorporates a blank canvass that has both function and form housed in one finely-crafted package.

The functionality comes from the usual digital gauges and displays that let driver and passengers know what’s going on with the vehicle and the world around them. The form factor, on the other hand, is what gives this car (and Rolls-Royce, for that matter) a character all its own.

Like all Rolls-Royce Bespoke Design creations, The Gallery can be personalized to reflect one’s taste. However, Rolls-Royce takes things a step further by offering its patrons a chance to commission some of the world’s best artists to turn their automobile’s dash into fine works of art. Yes, names like Thorsten Franck can interpret his Digital Soul onto The Gallery, as can Helen Amy Murray transform the blank glass canvass into a thing of beauty with the Whispered Muse.

It’s no secret that most Rolls-Royce clients are likewise collectors of fine art. This is why the marque has taken such a bold step, to allow one to truly customize his or her Rolls into a work of art that reflects their own personal style and taste.

Of course, these examples are just here to showcase what can be done. As with any Bespoke creation, the only limitation is one’s imagination.
