It’s no secret that there is a new Volkswagen Tiguan, which first saw daylight at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. In fact, Volkswagen Philippines has likewise revealed that it will be unveiling the model at this year’s Manila International Auto Show 2017. Well, that time is now. Enter the all-new, second-generation Volkswagen Tiguan.
Based on the MQB platform that underpins models like the Golf, Jetta, and Audi A3, the latest Tiguan sports a sleek and sophisticated exterior with the brand’s signature squared-off front fascia. The side gets a dominant character line while the rear is an equally stylish rendition.
This being the Comfortline top-spec variant, goodies like a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, App-Connect, an 8-speaker audio system, and a tri-zone climate control system come standard. Safety is likewise high on the list, with anti-slip regulation, electronic differential lock, electronic stabilization program, and a total of 7 airbags.
Powering the new Tiguan is a 1.4-liter Turbo Stratified Injection (TSI) motor that develops 150hp and 250Nm of torque. This one is strapped to a 6-speed DSG transmission.
