It’s no secret that Hyundai Motor already has a premium brand known as Genesis. In fact, it has already come out with two models within a year of existence—the G90 and the smaller yet still luxurious G80. Yet the Korean carmaker hasn’t forgotten about its top-range model, the Azera. Proof of this is that there is all-new Azera that was recently launched in the Korean market.
The latest sixth-generation iteration of the Azera sports a new svelte shape that combines the brand’s signature styling cues with a distinct demeanor meant to set it apart from its peers. The soft flowing lines give it a sense of sophistication that would look at home in a more expensive ride.
Besides the look, the new Hyundai Azera boasts of technologies, comfort and safety features that belong to more premium marques. The interior, for instance, features Nappa leather, a 7-inch touchscreen interface that likewise houses the Around View monitor, and even a power trunk. Safety comes in the form of Hyundai’s Safety Sense suite that includes stuff like Autonomous Emergency Braking, Active Blind Spot, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Advanced Cruise Control and the aforementioned Around View Monitor.
Buyers can choose from four engines to suit their driving style. These include a 3.0- or 2.4-liter Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) motor, a 2.2-liter diesel, or a 3.0 LPI mill for more environment-friendly motoring. These powerplants can be paired with either an eight-speed automatic (for the 3.0 GDI or 2.2 diesel) or a six-speed auto (for the 2.4 GDI and 3.0 LPI).
Orders are now being accepted in Korea for the all-new Hyundai Azera. Worldwide sales will commence in 2017.
