The Lexus IS is one of those cars that still looks fresh, despite being a good three years old. In car years, that’s practically half a lifetime. But as tradition dictates, it’s about time that it gets a refresh, which it actually did a few months ago. Now, the updated Lexus IS finally makes it way to our shores.
While the overall shape is still the same (which isn’t a bad thing), the front end gets a more aggressive mug. The headlamps are sleeker and more swept back. The bumper, meanwhile, now has larger air intakes that not only make for a meaner stance but are likewise functional in feeding air to various parts like the brakes and the engine. And of course, the trademark Lexus spindle grille gets updated, with larger proportions. The F-Sport variant even receives a 3D mesh pattern with metallic coating to highlight its performance leanings.
The look is further spruced up by 17-inch alloys that complement the sweeping side profile. The rear is given a more sophisticated touch with triple-layer LED taillights and rectangular exhaust tips. All told, it’s both elegant and sporty at the same imte.
Inside, it’s the little details that take center stage and make a huge difference. The meters set is now new, as are the cupholder design. Finally, an Enter button has been added to the Remote Touch Interface (RTI) to increase usability. And of course, the same Lexus top-notch materials remain, making this car one of the classiest in its segment.
The refreshed Lexus IS350 retails for P2,668,000 while the Lexus IS350 F-Sport goes for P3,198,000.
