MotoItalia, an affiliate of the Autohub Group and the official distributor of Vespa scooters in the Philippines, recently launched 3 new models of the popular Italian motorbike maker. These are the Sprint 150, the Primavera 150, and the Vespa S 125.

While these Vespas boast uniqueness of their own in terms of style, they have a few things in common; electronic saddle cover release lever for convenience, USB port for connecting smart devices, anti-lock brake systems (ABS) for enhanced stopping power, and that system called i-GET or the Italian Green Experience Technology.

Highlighting the i-GET system, it refers to Vespa’s redesigned engines with 3 valves per cylinder, electronic fuel injection, and air cooling. This, in turn, improves fuel consumption and performance. It’s also worth noting that with the i-GET system, the new models are now Euro 4 compliant (Euro 3 for the S 125), meaning that they emit less harmful gasses, thus becoming more environment friendly.

Vespa S 125 – P125,000 SRP (Available colors: Verde Matt, Grigio Titanio, and Rosso Matt)

Leading the pack is the youthful-looking Vespa S 125. This scooter is fashioned to be vibrant and lively. It flaunts distinct character lines, a new-design saddle, and a generally aggressive yet elegant profile.

Underneath the rider is a 125cc 1-cylinder engine with an i-GET system that produces 11 hp and 11 Nm of toque. It’s then controlled via CVT (continuous variable transmission) with torque server.

Vespa Primavera 150 - P175,000 SRP (Available colors: Blue Midnight, Monteblanco, Nero Vulcano, Rosso Dragon, and Grigio Titanio)

Next in line is the Primavera 150. It features an elegant body design that stays true to its first iteration back in the ‘60s, albeit with a modern twist. Its rider information stack consists of an analog speedometer and an LCD screen that displays important vehicle stats like fuel level and trip distance measurement, among others.

Vespa Sprint 150 - P195,000 SRP (Available colors: Rosso Dragon, Grigio Titanio, and Montebianco)

Rounding off the new model lineup is the Sprint 150. Just like the Primavera, its general styling, particularly its headlight, pays homage to the Vespas from the 1960s. But unlike the Primavera, it’s styled to cater to those individuals who love to have a bit of fun traveling in and around the city.

Among the Sprint’s highlights are those 12-inch front and rear wheels that add maneuverability. It also sports LED front and rear lights that improve visibility for both the rider and other vehicles on the road.

Both the Primavera and the Sprint are powered by a 150cc 3-cylinder engine with i-GET system. This power plant delivers 13 hp and 13 Nm of torque. It’s mated to a CVT with torque server.
