Volkswagen Philippines kicked off the Visayas leg of its award-winning Child Safety Initiative (CSI) campaign at the Robinson’s Galleria in Cebu City last October 15, 2016.
The affair, which began as the mall opened its doors at exactly 11 a.m., was graced by top representatives from Volkswagen Philippines. Robinson’s Mall, and the Philippine Global Road Safety Partnership (PGRSP). Ren Dumaraos, VW Cebu Branch Manager, Marion Concordia Saguisag, Robinson’s Land Mall Operations Manager, and PGRSP Director Marte Perez, all stressed the importance and timeliness of this campaign, especially in light of the ever-growing number of road accidents in the country, particularly in the Visayas.
The event was made even more interesting by a mini community, complete with a road network with signages, traffic lights, and little cars for the kids to ride and drive. It’s the perfect way to teach the youngsters the value of being a safe road user. Parents also got a chance to check out the latest VW models, such as the Tiguan and Touran. There were also special car seats available to further stress the point of child safety.
Since its launch in April of 2015, the CSI program has had 7,048 children and 5,360 adults take part in the various activities held in 33 venues. VW hopes to further boost this number in the coming months.
