In January 2016, Lexus left the world floored when it unveiled the stunning LC500 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Based on the equally cool LF-LC Concept of 2012, the car featured a striking sporty profile and promised the utmost in driving fun with Lexus comfort to boot.
Fast-forward to August of 2017 and Lexus Manila finally debuts the LC500. Nothing has changed from the car that we saw early last year. The signature Lexus Spindle Grille with 3D mesh effect, slim LED headlamps, uniquely-shaped foglamp housings, L-shaped daytime running lights, broad shoulders, and low-slung profile are all present. So are the rear diffuser, and active rear spoiler. Philippine-spec LC500s will even come with 245/40R21 front and 275/35R21 rear tires.
Just like the outside, the cabin is full of design details that give it its own character. The stitching goes all the way to the footwell—yes, one place you wouldn’t necessarily bother to check. Then there is the new performance gauge cluster and multimedia interface that treat the driver and passengers to stunning graphics and easy-to-use, intuitive operation. Naturally, the 2+2 cabin is an inviting place to spend time in while on the road.
But the Lexus LC500 is more than just a comfortable place, as Lexus promises. Utilizing the new Global Architecture for Luxury Vehicles, the LC500 is powered by the brand’s very own 5.0-liter naturally-aspirated V8 motor that develops 467hp at 7,100rpm and 527Nm at 4,800 revs. The engine, which is shared with the RC F and GS F, is paired with a 10-speed automatic and propels the svelte coupe to the century mark from rest in just 4.5 seconds.

Thanks to the new platform the car is touted to handle like a dream. With vital components placed near the center, Lexus promises more even weight distribution. Moreover, a truly stiff body and lightweight carbon fiber in places like the trunk floor, doors, and roof make this car light on its feet yet still capable of being a comfortable cruiser.
The Lexus LC500 is now available at the Lexus Manila showroom in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
