Participants from Chevron Philippines Inc. run in support of the 7th Annual ScholaRUN at Central Park, SM Seaside, Pasay City

Chevron Philippines Inc., official marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants in the country began the year with a flying start by helping underprivileged youths go to school. We refer to the ScholaRUN, a fun run that aims to raise funds to help send scholars of the American Chamber of Commerce Foundation Philippines to school.

Starting off at an early 5:00am one morning, more than 300 participants consisting mostly of employees from various ACCFP companies gathered together at Central Park, SM Seaside Complex in Pasay City. They were given the choice whether they’d like to run on the 3km track for P550, the 5km track for P600, or the 10km track for P650. Either way, they each received running kits and a medal upon finishing the race.

The 7th ScholaRUN gave each participant the chance to help underprivileged yet deserving individuals have a better shot at life. Since 1986, the ACCFP has been doing its part to help such youngsters reach their dreams. It has funded everything from tuition fees, uniforms, allowances, project fees, and school supplies for some 2,000 individuals. And these men and women are now employed in various AmCham companies.
