The four-door coupe has always been associated with the Porsche Panamera.  But it seems like Mercedes-Benz has had enough of this as it finally unveils the sexy Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.

Taking its cue from the AMG GT Concept that was showed off at last year’s show, the four-door sports car from Affalterbach gives us the same svelte lines of the GT, complete with an air panel in the front bumper and a retractable rear spoiler out back—albeit with two extra doors. Buyers can even opt for an aero kit that gives them a larger front splitter, revised rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing that can be adjusted manually.

Inside, it’s typical Merc luxurious with a pair of 12.3-inch screens, a slew of tech goodies, and seating for either four or five people. The rear seats even get 60/40 split-folding capability for more versatility.

But what really sets this one apart from most Mercs is what lies under the long swooping hood. Clients can go for the AMG GT 63 S that packs a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 that puts out 630hp, good for a 3.1-second 0-100kph sprint; a 577hp version of the mil for the AMG GT 63 that can scoot from rest to 100kph in 3.3 seconds,; or the base AMG GT 53 that comes with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 with 429hp. This one is paired with an electric motor that ekes out 21 extra horses, good for a 0-100kph time of 4.4 seconds.

Apart from straight-line speed, handling is assured by four-wheel steering, as well as 4Matic+ all-wheel drive that gives the car the utmost in traction on any surface. The AMG GT63 S and 63 models get the MCT AMG Speedshift 9-speed automatic with wet clutch. Its AMG GT53 sibling receives the TCT AMG Speedshift with a convetional torque converter.

Expect the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door  to arrive in dealerships early next year.
