Water, it has been said, gives life. It helps us in our day-to-day tasks for cleaning, cooking, and of course, it helps nourish the body. Unfortunately, not many people have access to safe and much less potable drinking water. This is why companies like Ford are doing its bid to change this via projects like the construction of water facilities.

The latest in the series of Global Caring projects held during Global Caring month in September, Ford Philippines and its dealer volunteers constructed three new water facilities in certain Gawad Kalinga villages. The GK villages were GK Cabulacan in Sta Catalina, Negros Oriental, GK Camposano in Brgy Tabu in Dulag, Leyte, and GK Formoso in San Jose, Nueva Ecija.

The water facilities, which were being constructed with the help of volunteers from Ford Dumaguete, Ford Taclocan, and Ford Cabanatuan, are poised to benefit some 170 families. These water facilities are meant to give these folks access to safe, potable drinking water.

Since 2004, the Global Caring project has benefitedover 1,000 families thru the construction of 14 water facilities in the Luzon and Visayas areas, among others. With the project, it hopes to continuously replicate this in more areas around the country, giving people not only clean water but a shot at a better life.
