Four-door Coupe Battle Set to Heat up with the BMW 8-Series Coupe and M8 Gran Cope Concepts Coming into the Fray

Yesterday, you got to see the sexy new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe that is set to do battle with the erstwhile Porsche Panamera. Now, it looks lie BMW wants to jump into the four-door coupe ring with the unveiling of the 8-Series Coupe and M8 Gran Coupe Concepts at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show.

Just like its two-door coupe sibling that was previewed in May of last year, this four-door number gets a long flowing hood, sloping roofline, and a sexy rear. The seamlessly-flowing rear roof and large air intakes up front are just some hints of performance and sportiness. And the show car’s gold kidney grille hints at how exclusive this model would be.

Speaking of performance, a host of carbon fiber pieces, including the roof on the M8 Gran  Coupe, are meant to save weight and lower the center of gravity. Out back, the quad exhaust tips, aggressive haunches and rear spoiler, and slim taillights all speak luxurious sportiness.

The BMW 8-Series Coupe and M8 Gran Coupe are said to arrive in 2019. The two-door models will debut first, followed by the four-door versions. And once in production, it is said to take the top spot in the BMW model hierarchy.
