Full-size SUVs that can scoot from 0-100kph in 6.6 seconds are nothing to write home about these days.

Even if it runs on a 95kWh lithium-ion battery driving two electric motors.

And has a range of over 400kms.

What’s amazing is that it is considered as one of the safest vehicles out there.

We refer to the Audi e-tron Quattro.

The fully-electric SUV bagged the Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It garnered a Good rating—the highest honor.

This means it aced the areas of crashworthiness performance,  namely, small front overlap collision, evaluations on both driver and passenger sides, moderate front overlap, side impact, roof strength, and head restraints and seat performance.

This being an Audi, it also has loads of tech to help reinforce safety.

These include standard Matrix Design LED headlamps, and automatic emergency braking.

It also has Audi pre-sense basic tat closes in the windows and sunroof, as well as tightens the seatbelts when a collision is imminent.

The system can also help brake the car above speeds of 87kph or totally stop the e-tron when travelling below 40oph.

It’s no wonder it bagged the highest safety rating.

The very first fully-electric full-size SUV to receive such a distinction.

With all these, you do get the best of all worlds.
