Since its official market launch in the country last year, the Honda Civic Type R has sold like the proverbial hotcake. The initial batch of 100 units has been spoken for. The good news is, those that want a new high performance Honda can reserve a unit as Honda Cars Philippines Inc just announced that it would once again be bringing in another 100 copies this year.
Beginning May 11, 2018, clients can reserve a unit at their preferred Honda dealership. The Type R, as car enthusiasts will note, gives one an exhilarating drive when one wishes to play yet can still be used for the daily commute. Its 306hp and 400Nm of torque coursed through a 6-speed manual are more than eough to give anyone a good time behind the tiller.
Of course, the 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo mill is only part of the equation. The bespoke chassis, aero bits, and Type R upgrades all combine to heighten the experience even further. And yes, this is a Civic—one that many have been aspiring for ever since it came out in the 1990s.
For 2018, buyers can choose from either the signature colors of Championship White and Rallye Red, or a new Polished Metal Metallic hue. Deliveries of this year’s batch will arrive in October.
