#AlagangBFF. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), through its corporate social responsibility arm, HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI), joins hands with UP-PGH and UP-PGH Cancer Institute in giving women a fighting chance at preventing breast cancer and taking control of their health, through mobilization of medical missions via Hyundai’s H350 van customized as the “Alagang Breastfriend” breast cancer mobile diagnostic clinic. The ceremonial turnover of the Hyundai H350 was held on the grounds of the UP Philippine General Hospital represented by partners (L-R) from UP-PGH Dr. Nelson Cabaluna, Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Dr. Jorge Ignacio, Chairman of the UP-PGH Cancer Institute, Dr. Gerardo Legaspi, UP-PGH Director, and HARI Foundation, Inc. (HFI) President Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo.
It’s no secret that Hyundai Asia Resources Inc, thru its corporate social responsibility arm, HARI Foundation Inc, has been a staunch advocate of women empowerment. It has been undertaking programs to promote women’s rights, as well as bat for a more significant place in society for what is often seen as the “fairer sex”.
HFI steps up its efforts to help women via its latest campaign entitled Alagang Breastfriend. The project is a partnership with the UP Philippine General Hospital and UP PGH Cancer Institute. The said initiative will help inform, empower, and care for women, especially those afflicted with this dreaded disease.
In a simple yet meaningful ceremony held during no les than Breast Cancer Month, HFI turned over a Hyundai H350 mobile clinic that will be used to help with this worthy endeavor. By using the H350 mobile diagnostic clinic, UP PGH Cancer Instititue can reach out to more women across the country and help them cope with this affliction, as well as inform others on how to detect and maybe even prevent it.
With the initiative, Hyundai hopes to give Filipinos a better shot at a better life—even in its own little way.
