With sales of its vehicles going at a steady pace,  Hyundai is once again on a roll as a host of its models bagged prestigious awards for design and safety. The latest-generation Hyundai Santa Fe and the new Kona lead the way as they garnered the top titles.

For starters, both the Santa Fe and Kona received the International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) from the Industrial Designers Society of America. Their forward-thinking design language and distinctive styling cues were the main focus of the judges, helping them the final choice.

Besides looking good, however, both Sport Utility Vehicles likewise bagged the Top Safety Pick+, which is the highest honor given by the vaunted Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The non-profit organization constantly monitors the safety and roadworthinesss of new cars churned out by automakers and endows those with excellent marks.

Apart from the Kona and Santa Fe, nameplates like the Elantra and Sonata, along with the Tucson and Accent, have also received Top Safety Pick honors. This shows just how safe these vehicles are, not to mention how good they look.
