In May of this year, British luxury marque Jaguar Land Rover announced that it would be closing shop in the country. While this left many enthusiasts and loyal owners wanting, JLR did follow this up with an assurance that it would be forging an alliance with a new partner real soon.
Well, the time has come to announce that partnership. Earlier today, JLR Asia Pacific Importers signed a binding contract with new Philippine importer Coventry Motors Corporation. Headed by its chairman George Barcelon and president Gerardo Alejandro, CMC is set to lay the foundation for operations that are set to begin early next year.
Among the first things it plans to undertake is the opening of its first dealership. Yet even as it prepares for this, it will accommodate existing JLR owners who wish to have their vehicles serviced. In fact, the new handlers of Jaguar Land Rover enthusiastically said that they will definitely welcome current owners and extend the courtesy befitting any Jaguar Land Rover client.
