It’s set to be a game-changer with its almost midsize dimensions and upscale features.

This is how MG Philipines—The Covenant Car Company Inc describes its newest offering, the MG 5.

Debuting at this year’s Cebu Auto Show at the Sky Hall in SM Seaside, the new MG ticks the tape at 4,601mm in length and 1,788mm in width with  a longest-in-class wheelbase of 2,680mm--trumping other subcompact sedans.

Under the hood is a 1.5-liter DOHC inline-4 that puts out 114hp and 150Nm—again, the best in its segment. Power is sent to  the front wheels by either a 5-speed MT or CVT with manual mode.

As for safety, the new MG 5 gets dual airbags, ABS and EBD, hill start assist, and auto brake hold.

As with every MG, its comes with a 5-year/100,000km warranty, 1-year free Periodic Maintenance Service, Mobile Gadget app to do everything from getting to know your vehicle better to setting service appointments, and Mobile Garage that lets you have your ride serviced right in your home.
