It began with pre-bookings in late January. Then a product launch a few weeks later. Now, after several months of waiting, some 3,800 eager customers will soon be able to drive home their new Mitsubishi Xpander.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation just announced that the first batch of Xpander units has arrived at the Bauan International Port in Batangas. The Japanese carmaker’s Philippine arm said that this marks the start of Xpander deliveries. Clients can expect their vehicles to be available by the end of May 2018.
The Mitsubishi Xpander, you may recall, is the newest crossover MPV that combines the versatility and passenger room of a Multipurpose Vehicle with the ruggedness of an SUV. It’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder motor with MIVEC variable valve timing promises power and efficiency while the high ground clearance makes it ideal for traversing flooded city streets and mild off-road trails. The seven-seat configuration means it can comfortably take in family and friends plus cargo.
And with the arrival of the Toyota Rush into the scene, it’s game on for the compact SUV/MPV class.
