A More Elegant K900 to Grace the Kia Line-up

Kia is best known for its Sport Utility Vehicle line-up, as well as its small hatchbacks. Remember the Kia Pride of the 1990s? From that, quirky little bugger, the South Koran carmaker has moved on to bigger things—such as large, full-size sedans. Case in point is the K900, which is set to release its second generation real soon.

Kia Motors recently revealed images of its flagship sedan that is scheduled for release at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. Riding on a new platform, the new sedan is larger than its predecessor, with a more rigid body and chassis to boot.

The new design is characterized by flowing lines, bold creases, and an overall elegant stance. Making its debut is the new Quadric grille that will greet onlookers. The new design features 176 jewel-like cells that tend to give off a burst of energy each time you look at it.

Just like the outside, the cabin has an air of simplicity about it. First-rate materials are standard fare, along with the latest in tech and connectivity. The central focus of the cabin is the neatly-integrated 12.3 Human Machine Interface (HMI) display that exudes a calming effect on onlookers, Kia says. While it may be high-tech, it won’t give one that sensory overload that most new systems tend to do.

Speaking of ambience, Kia worked with the Pantone Color Institute to come up with some of he coolest and most personal ambient light settings in the business. One can choose from seven different hues or 64 light settings. It’s the best way to personalize the cabin to suit your own mood.

Capping things off is the elegant analog clock made together with Swiss watchmaker Maurice Lacroix. This is the perfect contrast to all the digital tech that we see in cars today.

The Kia K900 will go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
