The current-generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class first entered the scene for model year 2015. Since then, the German luxury carmaker notes that the sedan and wagon have gone on to become its best-selling nameplate. But instead of resting on its laurels, Mercedes-Benz has decided to freshen things up. Enter the 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Looking closely at the new sedan and wagon reveal a refreshed single-bar grille, a la AMG models, that is now standard fare. This is flanked by sleek LED headlights. There are also new air intakes on the side of the front bumper, as well as new LED taillights and a rear diffuser that gives the car a sporty and elegant look.

Stepping inside, one will notice a few subtle detail changes as well. Customers can opt for a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with an equally new 10.25-inch infotainment monitor. Both of these can now be controlled by an optional steering wheel-mounted swipe control system that allows one to manipulate various functions all via swipe finger gestures.

If you think this sounds familiar, it comes from the new-generation E-Class. Another E-Class “hand-me-down” is the Driver Assist function The Intelligent Drive Assist uses a set of radars and cameras together with map and navigation data that allow the car to “see” farther down the road. This gives the facelifted C-Class semi-autonomous driving capabilities.

The 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will still be powered by the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder lump, this time making more power at 255hp. It is sent to the drive wheels via 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox.

The new Merc Class-Class will have its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
