The Porsche Macan has always been considered as one of, if not the sportiest SUVs in the segment. While it may look like a typical crossover with a few Porsche styling cues, it drives like no other, say car enthusiasts. Well, Porsche seems to want to solidify this claim as it unveils the new 2019 Macan S.

The facelift begins with an all-LED light affair for both the headlights and taillights. The fronts feature the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus that throws light according to appropriate lighting conditions for an optimum balance of brightness and reducing glare for oncoming traffic. The rear, meanwhile, now has a LED light bar in between the clusters that give it a distinct look that ties it in with the rest of the Porsche family.

Inside, the biggest highlight in the new Porsche Communications Management system that now features a large 10.9-inch touchscreen. This one gives all the necessary connectivity options, including online navigation with real-time traffic updates.

Being a Porsche, however, you just know that the changes will go beyond cosmetics. And they do as the updated model now boasts of a new 3.0-liter V6 motor with a centrally-located twin-scroll turbocharger that sits right smack in the middle of the V. This makes for a shorter path between the exhaust and turbo for more immediate responses.

The result of all this is now seen in the more potent 254hp and 480Nm of torque. That’s up from the previous model, allowing the new Macan S to scoot from rest to 100kph in just 5.1 seconds and reach a 254kph top speed. Power is sent to all four wheels via 7-speed PDK gearbox.

Apart from the new engine, the suspension, brakes, and other components have been reworked. All this results in a more stable ride, sharper handling, and better ride comfort, says Porsche.

Expect to see the new Porsche Macan S in dealerships real soon.
