Last January 28, 2018, the World Trade Center in Pasay City played host to this year’s Suzuki Raider R150 Summit, a nationwide gathering of passionate Suzuki Raider R150 riders. Organized by Suzuki Philippines (SPH), the event saw over 10,000 attendees with a common goal to celebrate the brand, the bike, and the passion for riding.

It has been a tradition for SPH to beef up the annual event with something to thank its loyal customers in a more meaningful way. This is carried out through a corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

This year, SPH launched its latest CSR program called the One Suzuki for Marawi. It’s a donation drive which it created in partnership with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. (ALKFI) to rehabilitate Marawi, a region in Mindanao which was war-torn in 2017.

In its wake, the war left the region pretty much in shambles with the loss of people, homes, natural resources, and livelihood reaching unimaginable numbers. It’s no surprise that rehabilitating it would take a long time, but this is a challenge SPH and ALKFI are willing to take to help the region and its people live a better life again.

The One Suzuki for Marawi donation drive gathered more than P2.6-million. This came from not just the attendees, but also from SPH itself. This includes the company’s officers, employees, dealers, dealer partners, and more.

In addition, ABS-CBN’s talents called the Kapamilya Stars joined in to help raise funds and give the 2018 Suzuki Raider R150 Summit an energetic vibe. Some of them included Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.

The funds were turned over to ALKFI which it will use in full on its special Sagip Kapamilya operation that will focus on rehabilitating Marawi.
