Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) recently held the first of its 2 events that underscore its inaugural Vios Racing Festival. It’s called the Vios Autocross Challenge, a competition that tests driver’s skills under time pressure on a specially-designed course.

The 2019 Vios Autocross Challenge was held last April 28 at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds. Highlighting the event were some of the country’s esteemed motoring journalists, new and veteran Toyota Vios Cup celebrity racers, motoring and lifestyle influencers, and several Toyota car club members who are into racing. Their steeds, a competition-prepared 2019 Toyota Vios, complete with safety roll cage, enhanced brakes and suspension.

The purpose behind the Vios Autocross Challenge is to not only launch the inaugural 2019 Toyota Vios Racing Festival and introduce some of the drivers who will compete this year, but also to evaluate how the new Vios racecar would perform under pressure. This is also the first of 2 events that comprise the 2019 Vios Racing Festival, the other one being the Vios Circuit Championship, essentially the Toyota Vios Cup with a different brand name.

The 2019 Toyota Vios Autocross Challenge consists of 4 classes; the Media Class, Celebrity Class, Influencer Class, and Car Club Class. After a full day’s worth of action around the specially-built course, each driver’s skills reigned supreme. Below are the lists of the event’s top 3 winners in each class.

Catch the 2019 Toyota Vios Circuit Championship this June, August, and November. We’ll keep you posted about this exciting racing event.
