To most folks, the Toyota Corolla is usually associated as a no-nonsense four-door sedan. More enthusiastic folks will also know the nameplate to be a sporty two-door coupe or even a hatchback (remember the Corolla Liftback?) And then there’s the wagon version that appeared in various iterations.
Toyota now puts the spotlight on the last body style as it unveils the latest-geneation of the Corolla wagon, the Corolla Touring Sports. While it may look like the soon-to-be-released next-generation Corolla from the front, the rear boasts of a stretched roof to make way for a massive cargo area.
The Japanese brand claims that its new wagon has 595L of cargo volume to haul all your gear. The added bonus is a 2,700mm wheelbase that affords more legroom for passengers, especially in the back. Moreover, optional extras include a head-up display, wireless phone charger, and a premium JBL sound system, just to name a few.
The new Corolla Touring Sports will be powered by either a 1.2-liter, 114hp gasoline motor, or a pair of hybrids in either 1.8- or 2.0-liter displacements putting out 120- and 178hp, respectively.
While we’d love to see the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports on Philippine roads, it will only be offered in the European market for now.
