BMW Rolls Out the Refreshed 1-Series and 2-Series

The BMW 1-Series, along with its two-door 2-Series sibling, are considered as the more sporty offerings in the subcompact class. The BMW DNA has given these little machines the fun-factor that many aspire to have when they “grow up”. But now, BMW thinks it’s time for a refresh.

While it is pretty subtle, both cars get new LED headlamps and taillights, along with a gloss black kidney grille for the 5-door hatch 1er. These, plus a new set of alloy wheels, give the cars a meaner yet sophisticated vibe. What isn’t exactly sutble is the new hues of Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange for the 1-, and Mediterranean Blue for the 2-Series.

Inside, new air vents, upholstery, and a revised instrument panel adorn the cabin. Beyond these aesthetic changes, more tech can be found in the form of a touchscreen (a la 5-Series), wifi hotspot, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interface. It’s essentially more premium in here.

Just like its 3-Series cousin, the facelifted models will welcome new Edition packages to the mix. These are the Sport Line Shadow, M Sport Shadow, and M1401 Edition Shadow. Each one promises to offer the kind of sport or luxury that matches one’s personality. Now, one can truly choose the 1- or 2-Series that’s right for them.

The new BMW 1-Series and 2-Series facelift models will be available beginning this July.
