Ford Philippines reported a strong sales showing for the month of September and an overall best-ever third-quarter sales push. The Blue Oval brand saw a 32 percent year-on-year rise in vehicles sold, with 8,224 units for the said period. The third quarter alone saw its total vehicle roll out for the year pegged at 24,993 units—a 50 percent rise.

Ford attributes the robust performance to strong sales of the EcoSport, Everest, Ranger and other models.

The EcoSport, for instance, had a 19 percent jump compared to last year’s sales, with 2,612 EcoSports leaving the showroom. The Everest, meanwhile, was the top seller, with 2,661 vehicles. September alone witnessed 843 buyers putting their hard-earned money on the midsize SUV.

The tough Ranger, on the other hand, had 1,976 new owners this year, an 8 percent increase over last year. Apart from the trio, the premium Explorer also helped the cause, along with the iconic Mustang. The former had a 22 percent sales rise to 231 units while the latter rolled out 43 pony cars this year.

Ford expects to sell more vehicles in the coming months. Part of the expectation is pinned on the newly-launched Ranger FX4. It takes the best bits of the tough truck and adds a bolder and sportier vibe. It is now available at all Ford dealerships across the country.
