Hyundai Asia resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor and manufacturer of Hyundai vehicles in the country, has sold a total of 2,801 units last month (May 2017). This remarkable sales feat contributed to its 2017 year-to-date (January to May 2017) sales of 14,163 units, a 6% increase over the same period last year.
As it stands, the Korean carmaker’s passenger cars took a huge chunk of the sales pie. Leading the charge was the Hyundai Accent subcompact saw a total of 6,299 units sold from January to May this year. That translated to a 39% increase in sales from the same period in 2016.
Following closely is the Hyundai Elantra compact sedan. It has registered a 2017 year-to-date sales feat of 559 units, a notable 31% of upward momentum vs. its performance on the first 5 months of last year.
Lastly, the Hyundai Grand Starex assumed as the brand’s 3rd best-selling model this year. From January to May, the van sold a total of 1,672 units across the country.
HARI credits the confluence of strong economic growth, competitive auto loan rates, and low inflation as the main drivers of its success in the local automotive scene; a success which the brand will soon celebrate as it reaches its 15th year of serving the Filipino car buyers.
“HARI will continue to move forward in taking the Hyundai brand into the hearts of the Filipinos. Rest assured that we will only deliver best-in-class products and services to our customers. Basta gusto mo, kaya mo. Sama tayo,” Said Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI President and CEO
