While Volvo may be synonymous with building some of the safest cars on the road, the Swedish carmaker has likewise made a name for itself when it comes to sports and lifestyle activities. One such sport is golf, which the brand has been a part of for over a quarter of a century.
Now, Volvo PH, the marque’s Philippine distributor, will once again hold the annual Volvo National Alumni Golf Cup. The third staging of this prestigious tilt will take place on July 3, 20174 at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.
The yearly event began in 2015 and brings together alumni golfers from such educational institutions as Stanford University, Ateneo de Manila University, San Beda College, St. Luke’s College of Medicine, University of the Philippines, University of the East, De La SalleCollege of St. Benilde, Asian Institute of Management, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University, Philippine Military Academy, University of Santo Tomas, and Philippine National Police Academy.
The year 2015 saw the Philippine Military Academy take top honors, while the following year witnessed the College of St Benilde bag the coveted trophy.
Apart from the round of golf, Volvo PH will also take the opportunity to show off its newest trio of top-end models: the premium Volvo 90 Series. Made up of the Volvo S90, the XC90 AWD, and the newly introduced V90 Cross Country, the cars represent the latest and most cutting-edge design and tech that the Swedish brand has to offer.
