Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the country, recently held a motor show which highlighted the Japanese carmaker’s 100–year history and innovation.
Dubbed as the “Mitsubishi 100 Years Anniversary Expo”, it took place at the World Trade Center in Pasay City last June 8 to 11, 2017.
The said 4-day event was home to a number of automotive displays, including those that were actually brought straight from Mitsubishi’s Auto Gallery in Okasaki, Japan. Some of these include the 1937 Mitsubishi Race (Circuit Car), the1985 Paris-Dakar Rally winning Mitsubishi Pajero #189, the 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer WRC, and the 2015 Baja Rally winning Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle).
But the most iconic model of them all was the 1927 Mitsubishi Model A, the brand’s first automobile.
Aside from those, the motor show also had a gallery of some of the cars that have made their mark in the local market. These include the 1970’s Mitsubishi Lancer, a couple of ‘80s Mitsubishi Lancer Boxtypes (an SL and a GT), a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4, and a pair of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution models (Evo 1 and Evo 5).
Of course, MMPC’s current models such as the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, the Mitsubishi Mirage and Mirage G4, and the brand’s roster of trucks and busses have graced the occasion as well.
