True car aficionados are aware that keeping an old car is not a bad thing. This particularly applies to rides that are well-maintained and kept in top form. However, this is easier said than done, especially when parts are hard to come by.
Nissan’s motorsport and performance division, Nismo, knows this. This is why it is set to unveil Nismo Heritage Program, a joint effort by Nissan Motor Co Ltd, Nissan Motor S[ports International Co Ltd, and Autech Japan.
This program, as the name suggests, aims to keep Nissan performance vehicles on the road longer by providing parts that may normally be subject to wear and tear as the vehicle ages. As its initial offering, Nismo Heritage Program will offer parts for the Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R.
The R32, as many car nuts may recall, was offered between 1989 and 1995. Within that period, it has won many awards and accolades in Japan and other markets. It has likewise garnered top honors in numerous races and motorsport events. And of course, it has tugged at the hearts of many car lovers the world over.
While the program puts forth parts such as harnesses, hoses, and other mechanical bits, Nissan says that it will find ways to replace those pieces that are not on offer yet are being hunted down by owners. This is its way of doing its best to ensure that Nissan performance car owners get to enjoy their rides even if these are past their production date.
The Nismo Heritage Program will begin selling performance parts on December 1, 2017. These will be on display at the Nismo Festival of Speed that will take place at the Fuji Speedway.
