Since April, the Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI), an esteemed group of the country’s motoring media, has been on full throttle in determining this year’s Car, Truck, and the first ever Motorcycle of the Year Philippines (COTY-P, TOTY-P, and MOTY-P, respectively)
As regard, the group has conducted a number of Test Fests in order to really bring out the true potentials of the entire 2017 season entries. And now, the time has come. After several days of Test Fests in a span of 3 months at the Ayala-owned Arca South land in Taguig, the winners have been decided.
Heading the list is the first ever MOTY-P winner… or winners, rather. That’s because the MOTY-P award is of 2 kinds; the Commuter Class and the Leisure Class.
The former was given to the Suzuki Raider R150 FI due to its sleek styling and fuel efficient engine which CAGI claims to rival that of the bigger bikes with increased displacements. The latter, on the other hand, was won by yet another Suzuki, and it’s the GSX-R 1000 R. The said superbike was cited not only for its form and power, but also for its safety as the test riders deemed it the safest and most stable unit they’ve handled.
